Lovely Rare Hope Mono Mini Brakes

We have had these brakes for a few years now, but we have discovered them and they are for sale!

It's the colours that stands out at first. But upon closer inspection the laser etching makes them really special. The rotors are matching pink with flower cut outs.

Check them out on our website. We only have the one set and they are very rare so don't let someone else get them!

Hope and Mondraker - match made in heaven.

'This is going to be risky'

These were my thoughts when seeing the build on paper. But risk brings reward. This is a very good looking bike and the colour scheme is exciting.

Looks fairly normal, get closer..

Mmm purple

Attention to detail, the bars were the perfect match.

These pictures were taken before the brake res' caps and bores were changed for purple ones too ;-)

Hope built wheels are bomb proof!

All the purple is giving us ideas..

Custom Van Nicholas Amazon

After a recent batch of Van Nicholas orders, I thought we could share this one.

Custom spec'd as part of a pair, the gents Amazon is derailier geared with a drop bar and the ladies was Rohloff geared with a flat bar.

Blue was the theme.

Custom wheels, hand built by Kevin. It's been a busy week for wheel builds, 3 pairs of wheels and 2 individual re-rim jobs.

Nice metallic bar tape from Fizik

More blue from Hope and Brooks

Sporting TRP Spyre brakes

Dual piston mechanical disc brakes for road with MTB versions coming soon.

Custom build season has already started. Check back soon to check out a rather tidy Salsa build.

Core Show and The Bike Place - Intense Bikes and Hope

These shows are getting big news these days but there's loads of exciting things that I think everyone should see. Both of these shows are reserved for the trade and press but it too good not to share!

There's loads to say about all of this but I will keep it brief.

Intense Bikes

Tracer 275, available as a frame or a build kit. Frame set comes with a Fox Kashima shock but the build kit is equipped with X-Fusion Forks and rear shock as part of the package. Orange is the standard colour and there are some other colours in the range available as an upgrade. The Orange is super bright!

Other bits from the intense stand include a XX1 equipped Spider 29, Hard Eddie 29 frame set and the Carbine 275 frame (in a rather good matte black and yellow!)

XX1 still looks weird with that crazy cassette.

The Hard Eddie is on my Christmas list... Full carbon fork, internal cable routing, replaceable dropouts for 142, 135 and single speed. WANT! Matching fork looks well in the matte colour scheme.

Carbine 275 is what people really want. It seems to have everything you could want from your everyday full susser.

Hope

These always loads of pretty-ness in the Hope room but this time there were two rather famous bikes. One of which from a recent TV programme. Guy Martins Rourke built, Hope spec'd speed bike was great to see. You can tell this bike wouldn't have been easy to design or build but as we know, it's one fast bike!

The other is Martyn Ashton's Pinarello from the recent crazy trials, road combo video.

The new purple colour way is going to be popular I'm sure. Seeing it all in one place gives me ideas for a bike build.. It's a great addition to the range and we will have it in store ASAP!

More Show pictures to follow.

Custom Yeti 575 Anniversary. Yummy!

Its a Marmite bike I think but I can safely say I think it looks great!

This is a modern bike with a retro theme and it is very brave to try and get the yellows and the blues to mach from all the different suppliers. Again, I think it looks spot on!

With only 250 of these frames being made you may never see one of these out and about but you will certainly know if you see this one! :-)

Ouch, that's going to hurt...

... but look how strong the brake is!

This is a nasty crash in anyone's book but the Hope brake is super strong!

We have been stocking and servicing Hope brakes and other components since the dawn of time so pop down and see the guys that use, ride and sell Hope kit!

I run this model of brake on my bike and now I know they are stronger than me :-)

(There are some fairly graphic pictures on the link, just a warning.)

Stealth Custom Yeti Carbon

This Yeti has been built and set up by us but its by no means finished...

There are the basics for a stealth machine and the owner has some great plans for it.

Over the winter it will remain in its current livery and after all the muddy horrible weather is out of the way the bike will be re-born in an all black, under the radar approach.

As you can see, the black spec has started with the Thomson stem, black rims and finishing kit all to match. The Hope brakes have been fitted with black bore caps and black lever adjusters (we don't think this has been done yet as we pulled in a favor from the guys at Hope) - Let us know if you have seen this before and I am wrong... :-) Clearly Black rotors to suit.

The Forks will be resprayed black, black frame decals (we dont know if the green flash will stay or not yet) and some other select choices once the winter is out of the way. Another happy customer :-)
