Electric Bike Anyone?

We have a range of electric bikes in store and the idea is getting more people interested as the technology progresses. The bike are becoming smarter and the batteries are lasting longer making electric bikes an interesting proposition.

The top of the range Scott has it all! Its not the cheapest in the market but you can rest easy knowing that the tech behind the bike is sound and the quality is spot on. There are loads of nice features built into the design that are also transferred to the non-electric bikes too.

You will notice the integrated rear mudguard and rack, the frame mounted prop stand located at the rear of the chain stay and the purpose built frame to house the Bosch battery and motor system. Its a clever system that can be set in different modes depending on the particular use. It gives you all the information you need from the head unit from predicted range to current speed. The head unit is also back-lit when the lights are turned on. These are wired to the bike and are very powerful.

The overall package has been well thought out to provide the best riding experience. The motor is mounted on the frame and at the cranks, this give the bike a lower centre of gravity and unlike most other electric bikes, reduces rolling weight. When the motor is in the wheel it makes the bike harder to accelerate and brake and can also effect the handling of the bike.

The bikes are in store now and available to try. We keep them charged so just pop in to have a look.

Whats Wiggins riding? Pinarello in store!

We are Pinarello stockists and I am sure you will be surprised to hear that the demand for the 'winners' bike brand has grown somewhat.

Our stock levels are still good (as we saw the result we made sure we were prepared) so to truly understand the beauty of the Italian bikes, a visit to us in store is the way to start.

They start at £1399 for the UNO and we even have the Ultegra Di2 bike in stock at £3999.

There is also a slight curve-ball with the Catena single speed, steel framed lovely-ness at £799 - again, in store now.

Our window display has also been updated to reflect the Wiggins victory:

So come and have a look at our window display and our Pinarello's :-)

Facebook Friend!

We have been trying to get as many of our photos on the net as possible, we have set up a Flickr account that holds all of the Hi-res images and we have our Facebook page for all the rest. This is also the main home to our day to day happenings as it is easy to tag people etc.

So if you want to know more about us and what happens day in, day out then make sure you add us as a friend and 'like' our page.

This is also a great way to see our Blog posts and post comments.

Custom Kansi - Belt Drive

You may remember this from about a year ago, well its a LONG story but the bike is finally back and there have been some changes. This Kansi 1twenty of mine has been custom built using parts from the other belt drive Kansi I built before. Let me list the custom parts on here and some of which are pre-production :-)

Custom cut bars with Kansi bar ends and foam grips
Crazy Bob tyres (nightmare to get to work so if you have a Kansi, just don't bother...)
Black and Yellow SDG saddle.
Surly Chain Tug.
Gates Carbon Belt Drive (front ring, rear sprocket and carbon belt)
Rear wheel has been re-built onto a Shimano BMX hub.
Pre-Pro' Kansi Yellow Pedals and Yellow 'stay fold' - Thanks M.H!
and all the custom cut stickers in YELLOW! (Made in store!)

Some of the newest editions to the Kansi are:
Black bits, there are now black cranks, brake and lever - nice touch.
Magnets to ensure the bars stay close to the bike when folded. - again nice touch.

Well its taken a long time but the bike is finally here. I think I will be changing the tyres again for something narrower but we will see.

Let us know what you think :-)
